What He Did
In 1988 Danish psychologist and writer Jens Michael Schau, in a jealous rage, killed his partner and successful writer Christian Kampmann, who had been together with for 13 years. After being in custody in a mental hospital for seven years, Schau is now back home and lives as a recluse. Rasmussen’s documentary tells his story, switching from Schau’s intimate and painful confession to the rehearsal for a theatre performance about his story. “We must understand that what makes us inflict harm is inside each of us” (Jonas Poher Rasmussen).
