A conversation with the dance makers leaded by Athena-Maria Enderstein about the interrelations between gender, performance and profession. This event will be a space of participatory co-production where Performing Gender – Dance Makes Differences artists will develop a shared topography of gender, the dynamics of performance as an art form and the structural aspects of dancemaking as a profession. We will explore questions of representation, intersectional interpretation, and the power of small actions with the aim of generating creative possibilities for evocative and transformative dance and art.

Athena-Maria Enderstein is an Early Stage Researcher with the GRACE Project (Horizon 2020 Marie S. Curie Actions) working at Associazione Orlando in Bologna and pursuing a PhD at the University of Hull. Her current work focuses on the transfer and translation of feminist and gender knowledges in gender + training. She is interested in transformative pedagogies, transnational equality processes, feminist technologies, and the relationship between theory and praxis.
