A Quiet Passion

It was very challenging: a movie about a poetess who lived most of her life as a recluse. But Terence Davies ‘s biopic about Emily Dickinson achieved the best result, in a perfect balance between drama and unexpected humour moments. Cynthia Nixon (Sex and the City) gives her face and voice to Emily’s intense inner life, passion, romances and obsessions; actor Keith Carradine plays as Emily’s father. “An absolute spectacular masterpiece” according to The New Yorker.
