In this debut work, a mix between documentary and science fiction, Alison Reid tells the story of two girls, Lilith and Athena, who are in love and desperately want to have a child which is biologically ‘theirs and theirs alone’. By using an experimental scientific procedure, developed as a fertility cure in the laboratory where Athena works, they produce “female sperm” from Lilith’s stem cells.
Athena becomes pregnant, Lilith becomes jealous and uses the same method to have a baby from Athena’s cells. The truth about the how the babies were conceived is revealed during an animated family reunion.
