Allyson Mitchell is a Canadian artist who work includes sculpture, installations and cinema. In 1997, together with Mariko Tamaki and Ruby Rowen, she formed the activist groups Pretty Porky and Pissed Off, giving positive images of more corpulent bodies, reacting against the stereotypes of feminine beauty.
Deep Lez is the retrospective which Soggettiva dedicates to one of the most interesting voices of post-modern feminism: Through the showing of many of her short films, we will get to know the political and artistic work of this fat queer activist.
At the end of the film, Allyson Mitchell will hold a conference on the representation of the female body. Introduced by Elisa Manici. Go to official web site
