The French director Jean-Jacques Zilbermann once again tells of the adventures of the composed Simon Eskenazy (Antoine De Caunes) the jewish gay clarinet player from the previous Man is a woman.
In He’s my girl, Simon falls in love with Naïm (Mehdi Dehbi), a transsexual arab who works as a waiter. When Simon’s ill mother moves in with her son, the volcanic Naïm pretends to be a nurse and moves in too, in order to get on the mother’s good side. A comedy which faces trans-identity, being the parent of a gay child, Jewish traditions and parent-son relationships with a fresh and light approach.
