An English Man in New York tells the story of the last 20 years of Quentin Crisp’s life, the famous British actor and writer who left England for New York when he was 66. His off-Broadway show, How To Be Happy, set him up as as a brilliant one man player: his media success (the extraordinary performance as Elisabeth I in Orlando by Sally Potter) and his relationship with the young gay artist Patrick Angus, whose death from Aids left a gap that could not be filled.
Quentin is played by John Hurt, portraying the artist once again, as he did in The Naked Civil Servant (1975). Go to official web site
