Pornografare is a moment of investigation and theoretical contribution on the theme of pornography. If “pornographic” is that which stimulates personal pulsations through a public representation, the obscenity that accompanies the idea of pornography corresponds to the invasion of private space, a feeling that belongs to everybody but remains hidden. From this proposed observation we cite a society with less and less privacy, where pron is for everybody and made by everybody, with the media which steals our intimacy and a society which educates us to have the thirst for ‘seeing’ In all this, what role does art, the maximum expression of our ‘seeing’ play?
Participants in the discussion, moderated by Elisa Del Prete, organiser of Nosadella.due, will be Annamari Vänskä, lecturer and expert in mainstream homosexuality, who will talk about the sexual representation of the infant world in advertising, Susanna Paasonen, multimedial researcher at the University of Helsinki, who will deal with the proliferation of a pornographic aestetic in the modern mediatic society, also presenting her latest book, Pornification: Sex and Sexuality in Media Culture, Gaia Novati and Sergio Messina, both pioneers and authors in artistic experimentation of the independent network, who will illustrate their relativeprojects of CUM2CUT and Real Core, Pietro Adamo, lecturer of Modern history at Turin University and author of ‘La pornografia e i suoi nemici’ (Pornography and its enemies) and ‘Il porno di massa’ (Mass porn), who will develop an observation on hard porn as ‘mass’ object and on the social and cultural transformation in the history of pornography, Filippo Porcelli, director and author who works through a language which uses in an innovative way material from archives, who as well as presenting some of his work, will deal with the fall of erotism in today’s visual culture.
